So we are bombarded with information in this day and age. Whether you watch the news on T.V, read it from the papers or get it from social media, deciphering Fake news and Propaganda has been harder than ever. This may be some small part because people have become more questionable about the news we receive as a people than we have ever been. It may also be because we are being fed news about fake news and Propaganda more than before. Who can we trust. Right now there are a plethora of stories about Aleppo in Syria and there are conflicting stories but is that so surprising. Can I believe that one side is solely telling the truth with no agenda and the other side is just spreading lies and Propaganda. It's fair to say that there may be a mixture of truth and lies from both parties.

Imagine two people you know. You know them both to do wrong and be biased in their views, they fight and tell their friends about what the other did. If I started to listen to what the friends of one person and the the friends of the other person, I am certain that the stories wouldn't match. But the truth lies somewhere in the mix of those two reports. I can't just listen to one group of friends and be like okay that's the truth I don't need to listen to the other side. That would be ignorant of me.

Right now in Aleppo people may report what they have heard from the people they speak to and they may say that Assad and Russia are doing good there and are giving aid, while that may be true for those that receive it for those that don't and for those that don't see that and only see the bad that is happening, well ask them for a true account of what is happening and you'll get that Assad and Russia are negligent and causes the problems.

Both statements from those perspectives could be true. And being selective on what news you report is not fake but is Propaganda. So the real question and not just with Aleppo about all news. What agenda does the media that is reporting it have and how is it being used to push that agenda.  If we don't want to feel that what we are reading is propaganda well firstly you have to go out there first hand and get the truth for yourself, that is not likely to happen, so we have to read more than one source and check those sources and then make our own informed decisions

It would seem though that people like to be sheep and repeat what they have heard and share headlines they read without delving into any of the substance to see what is there.
